Public facilities are an element of utmost importance in the urban and formal structuring of towns and cities. The new Regional Archive of Terrassa, in an old industrial building, will play a key role in the renovation of the neighbourhood.

For this role to be possible, the facilities must fulfil certain conditions: they have to generate urban tension, must be functionally and constructively well adapted to the project for which they are being built and must be structured in both form and content as a singular element.

Our proposal is based on work with the existing building as much as possible while giving it a new renovated and modern image. We propose a single covering for the entire façade on which we will design a free composition which will enable us to make openings and darken areas where necessary without losing the idea of a structure.
